Patrick qualified as a Doctor at the historic University of Leuven (Louvain) in the Flemish part of Belgium but has been working as a Dr in the UK for over 25 years and completed all his postgraduate training in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine in England, Wales and Ireland. He spent 5 years in research, searching for and reviewing the evidence base underlying infertility treatments, and pioneering the first systematic reviews and meta-analyses of various infertility treatments. This lead to the creation of the 2nd registered Cochrane collaborative Review Group, the Subfertility Group. Patrick has extensive IVF experience, having worked in 4 other major UK IVF units before joining BPAS.
In his spare time he enjoys listening to indie and alternative music and tries to be creative by writing film scripts and compiling old film footage. He also supports his DJ wife as a roadie at the weekends. In his younger days he played football, tennis and squash and ran marathons but his knees are now beyond repair. He tries to keep fit these days by cycling.
